Form IV Hugh Lane Gallery Experience
Last Tuesday, Form IV went to visit the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin. They were given a tour by the resident artists, telling them wonderful stories about the origins of the building and its history. The children were amazed by the fabulous Francis Bacon studio which was recreated piece by piece from his original London studio.
The artists then gave a wonderful workshop where the children had to create a room in the Gallery using loads of interesting materials which then became 3D boxes. We had great fun all pilling in to the enormous lift in the Gallery to make our way finally out into the bright sunshine to have a picnic in the Gardn of Remembrance. We had a lovely morning experiencing art outside the classroom and have many memories to bring back to add to our own Built Environment project.
