Our academic approach is built on a broad, balanced curriculum, delivered in a calm and structured environment. Small classes and specialist teaching ensure each pupil is supported and challenged appropriately, with clear progression at every stage.

Pupils develop strong core skills while also building confidence, independence and a genuine understanding of how they learn best.

  • Irish Primary Curriculum, enriched and extended
  • Specialist teaching across key subjects
  • Small classes with individual attention
  • Integrated wellbeing through our SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) programme
  • Careful preparation for secondary school

Where will my child go next?

Our pupils move on to some or Ireland’s most respected secondary schools – not by accident, but because we prepare them carefully over ten years.

A typical day in primary

A structured, well-paced day that balances strong teaching with movement, variety and time to reset.

  • 8:40amMorning Arrival

Pupils arrive into class where the day begins calmly. There is time to settle in, organise belongings and connect with classmates before lessons begin.

  • 8:50am - 10:30amMorning Lessons

The first teaching block focuses on core subjects such as English and Maths. Lessons are clear, structured and supported by small class sizes and teacher guidance.

  • 10:30am – 10:50amBreak Time

Pupils head outdoors for a break and snack. This time supports social interaction, movement and a chance to reset before the next lesson block.

  • 10:50am – 12:30pm Mid-Morning Lessons

Learning continues with a mix of subjects, often including specialist teaching such as languages, music or PE depending on the day.

  • 12:30pm – 1:15pmLunch & Outdoor Time

Pupils have a hot lunch followed by time outside. This is an important part of the day for socialising, fresh air and movement.

  • 1:15pm – 3:30pmAfternoon Lessons

Afternoons include a broader mix of subjects such as SEAL, project work and creative subjects.

  • 3:30pmEnd of Core Day

The school day finishes, with a clear routine for collection or transition into hobbies and daycare.

  • From 3:30pmHobbies & Daycare

Many pupils stay on for hobbies, or structured daycare. This provides a consistent and well-managed end to the day.

What parents say

We moved to Dublin mid-year and were nervous about finding the right school quickly. Castle Park made us feel welcome from the first call. Within two weeks our daughter felt like she’d always been here.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to some of the questions parents often ask when considering primary at Castle Park.

  • What class sizes can I expect?

Classes are capped at 24 pupils, with smaller groups in the early years. This allows teachers to know each child well and provide consistent support and challenge.

  • How is academic progress supported?

Teaching is structured and carefully paced, with clear progression across all year groups. Specialist teachers and small classes ensure pupils are both supported and stretched.

  • What makes the school day different?

Every subject is taught by an expert. Your child learns science from a science teacher, music from a musician, languages from a near-native speaker – not a single generalist managing everything.

  • Are there opportunities beyond the classroom?

Yes – pupils take part in sport, music, performances, trips and a wide range of hobbies. These are part of everyday school life rather than occasional extras.

  • How do you support pupils socially and emotionally?

Wellbeing is built into the school day through the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) programme and daily routines. Staff know pupils well and provide consistent support as they grow in confidence.

  • How are pupils prepared for secondary school?

Preparation happens over time, with increasing independence, specialist teaching and clear expectations. By 6th Class, pupils are confident and ready for the transition.

  • What does daycare include?

Daycare provides a structured and reliable end to the day, including supervised play, homework time and a hot meal where needed.
