GOAL Fundraising Initiative
On Wednesday 22nd May, we were delighted to welcome Gabriela Prandini, the GOAL Country Director for Zimbabwe, to Castle Park. GOAL emergency response teams have been on the ground in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi following the catastrophic damage caused last month by Cyclone Idai, one of the worst storms ever to hit the southern hemisphere claiming over 1,000 lives. Gabriela was able to speak directly to the pupils about how our fundraising efforts are supporting their work. The Spring Term Student Council, who came up with the fundraising idea “Muffins for Mozambique”, presented a cheque to Gabriela, and we are grateful for all their help in organising the fundraising event. The total amount raised was €2,070.
