Form VI visit W5
On Wednesday Form VI set off early in the morning for their much anticipated trip to the W5 Centre in Belfast. Ms Pendergast organised the trip as part of their science programme this year and Ms Ledermann and Mr Meade also accompanied the children. The two classes alternated between two different selected activities during the visit – a Forensic Workshop and the challenge of Climbit. The Forensic Workshop asked the children to undertake a crime investigation, using fingerprinting techniques, chromatography and fibre analysis to eliminate suspects and close in on the culprit. In particular it developed their enquiry and problem solving skills.
