Remembrance Day 2018
This year at our Remembrance Day Assembly we commemorated the one-hundredth anniversary of the ending of World War One with a focus on two main themes. The first was the involvement of former Castle Park pupils and staff in the First World War, some fifty-six in all, which was a remarkable number given the small size of the school at the time. The second was recognising that World War One was a truly global affair involving over thirty nations. In preparation for the Assembly, every pupil made a poppy to display on ‘The Street‘. The Prep pupils wrote a simple phrase – “We remember all those who have died in war”- on their poppy in various languages.
The assembly ended with Form VI laying two poppy wreaths in the Memorial Garden in memory of the Castle Park men who died in action in World War One and Two.
