    Boughey Trophy House Music Competition

We have had a very exciting few weeks in Castle Park as the entire Prep Department prepared for and competed in the Boughey Trophy House Music Competition. The competition took place in two parts, an instrumental section where volunteers from each House performed solo on their instrument for the entire Prep Department, and a choral section where each House performed a chosen song.

In the Instrumental Competition, the following Junior and Senior representatives played their instruments with skill and fluency, gaining many points for their House: Eva III-C and Matthew IV-C (Edwardes); Lucas III-C and Kaitlyn IV-C (Collings); Grace III-C and Matilde IV-P (Pringle): Aaliyah II-C and Alice IV-C (Toone).

In the Choral Competition, the Form VI Music Leaders had the task of choosing and choreographing a song on the theme of ‘Colours’. We were treated to some impressive and colourful performances during a special assembly where Collings House sang ‘Colours of the Wind’, Pringle House sang ‘All Together Red’, Edwardes House sang ‘True Colours’ and Toone House sang ‘Colours’ by Jason Derulo. Many of the songs featured interesting choreography, new lyrics, waving flags and even sign language, helping to bring all the performances to life.

The results were announced at last Friday’s assembly and were as follows:

Junior Instrumentalist with the highest points:
    Eva III-C (Edwardes)
Senior Instrumentalist with the highest points:
    Alice IV-C (Toone)
    Winning House (Instrumental):
    Toone
    Winning House (Choral):
    Edwardes
    Overall Winning House:
    Edwardes
