    Grandparents’ Day May 2019

For nearly a decade, Grandparents’ Day at Castle Park has become a favourite tradition among pupils, staff and grandparents alike. This year was no exception. On Friday morning we welcomed over two hundred and thirty grandparents to the School!

The children were thrilled to have the opportunity to play host to their special guests. In preparation for the day, they had displayed work in their classrooms and helped to prepare quizzes and games to ensure that everyone was entertained during their visit.

First, on the agenda, was Assembly where Mr McSweeney, our Headmaster, welcomed all of the visitors. Form IV-C then presented “The Greeks Got Talent”, much to the delight of the audience. A hymn was sung, the School Prayer recited and once Assembly was complete, the children invited their grandparents back to their classrooms where they engaged in the various activities that had been planned. The morning culminated with a delicious lunch in the Dining Room, followed by tea and coffee in ‘The Street‘. It was a day that will have created lasting memories for both the children and their grandparents.
