AIJS Athletics Championship

Our boys’ athletics team won this year’s AIJS Tournament, performing sensationally at the Shoreline Leisure Centre in Greystones. There were notable performances from Alexander Kelly (first in the 200m), Mikey Thurk (first in 100m) and David Duffy who won the 150m. In the Girls’ events Charlotte Bourke performed well in the sprints and 400m, while Ella Tindale came second in the 150m sprint, both Cecelia Sheldon and Avery Longstreet were runners up in their events.

Our relay teams were sensational, demonstrating amazing relay changeovers – a great reward for weeks of hard practice. The Form IV and Form V Boys’ relay squads both won their events, while the girls performed well, coming second in the Form V event. Many other athletes came in the top three and medalled -well done everyone who represented the School – we look forward to the Dublin Schools Athletics Championships which will take place in Santry shortly.
